Intended for victim advocates, attorneys, law enforcement officers, and anyone involved in assisting crime victims, this toolkit provides guidance on improving and expanding services to victims of Identity (ID theft).
Abstract
The three sections of the toolkit are entitled "Building Partnerships," "Training Material," and "Outreach Material." The section on building partnerships provides step-by-step guidance on forming an Identity Theft Coalition of agencies, organizations, and individuals who want to assist victims of ID theft and promote countermeasures against ID theft. The focus of the coalition will be on what is currently being done to assist ID theft victims and prevent victimization and then improving and expanding on these efforts. The section on training materials contains downloadable materials that can be used as lesson plans for various audiences, instructor manuals, presentation handouts, and slide decks with speaker notes. The third section of the toolkit has downloadable materials that include victim brochures; public service announcements; a victim recovery kit; outreach material for specific populations, such as children, parents, non-native speakers, and visually impaired persons; a template card protection wallet sleeve; and promotional materials for an outreach event.
