The purpose of the Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program is to provide resources to state, local, and tribal governments and to state and local courts to develop and implement adult treatment drug courts that effectively integrate treatment, testing, sanctions and incentives, and transitional services in a judicially supervised court setting. | Funding Available To Protect the Elderly |

NIJ is funding Research and Evaluation on the Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation of Elderly Individuals and Residents of Residential Care Facilities. Priority research areas include identifying and exploring forensic markers of physical abuse; examining the use of medication; evaluating programs designed to prevent, deter, detect, investigate, and prosecute abuse; and conducting a rigorous external evaluation of the Orange County Elder Forensic Center, University of California, Irvine. The goal of the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) Participation Program is to increase the number of states that currently provide data to NMVTIS and to begin planning for future, fully online connectivity where data are shared real-time and instant title checks occur before a title is issued. ONDCP will host a Student Drug Testing Summit for charter schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 19, 2007.
