Message From the Director
Introduction
OVC's Victim Services 2000 (VS2000) initiative was
established in Denver to develop an urban model
for the comprehensive and seamless delivery of victim
services.
Denver VS2000
More than 50 nonprofit and government agencies participated
in the project, which used technology
and cross training to create an interdisciplinary service
network.
Importance of Training
VS2000 participants organized themselves in four training
teams to develop appropriate cross-training
materials and an online training center.
Curricula for Allied Professionals
To improve understanding of victim needs, curricula
were designed for the faith communities, law
enforcement trainees, and the legal profession.
Conclusion
Denver VS2000 continues to build its training network
and is seeking funding to sustain its initiatives.
