Federal Legislation

State Legislation

Connecticut Substitute House Bill No. 6147
Addresses gender-specific services and programs for juvenile offenders in Connecticut.

Florida Corrections Equality Act, Chapter 944.24
Provides guidelines for the administration of correctional institutions for women equivalent to those for male inmates.

Minnesota Statute: 241.70, Programs for Female Offenders
Provides a range and quality of programming for female offenders substantially equivalent to programming offered male persons charged with or convicted of crimes or delinquencies.

Oregon Statute: Chapter 417 — Interstate Compacts on Juveniles and Children; Children and Family Services
Provides for the welfare and protection of juvenile female offenders who are not under proper supervision and control, or who have absconded, escaped, or run away.

Texas Equal Access to Facilities, Services, and Treatment H.B. 1758
Addresses access for females in Texas under 18 years of age to facilities, services, and treatment available through health and human services and juvenile corrections programs.
