The following training and technical assistance opportunities are a sample of those available through nationally recognized agencies and associations.
The Center for Young Women's Development
The Center for Young Women's Development supports young women in building and exercising their own power by bringing together the best practices of service provision, youth leadership development, advocacy training, and health and wellness education. They launched the Sisters for Justice National Training Program in June 2004 to provide information and training on how service providers, community-based organizations and juvenile justice agencies can more effectively meet the needs of young women in crisis.
National Institute of Corrections Training Program: Workforce Development and Women Offenders
Training for individuals working or volunteering in prisons, jails, community corrections, community and faith-based organizations, U.S. Department of Labor One-Stops, and other governmental organizations such as health and human services who are interested in workforce development issues specific to women offenders.
Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) National Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC)
OJJDP TTAC supports the delivery of high quality training and technical assistance to the juvenile justice field. The center conducts ongoing needs assessments of the field and supporting efforts to evaluate training.
