Abstract: The statistical tables in this document are Web-only and describe criminal case processing in the Federal criminal justice system. The tables include data on arrest and booking through to sentencing and corrections. The tables present the number of suspects arrested and booked by the U.S. Marshals Service, suspects in matters investigated by and prosecuted by U.S. attorneys, defendants adjudicated and sentenced in U.S. district courts, and characteristics of Federal prisoners and offenders under Federal supervision. The tables are listed in three sections: Section 1: Federal Law Enforcement and Prosecution - Federal Arrests and Federal Investigations and Prosecutions; Section 2: Federal Pretrial, Adjudication, Sentencing, and Appeals – Federal Pretrial, Federal Case Filings and Adjudication, Federal Sentencing, and Federal Appeals; and Section 3: Federal Corrections and Supervision – Federal Supervision, Probation, and Parole, and Federal Imprisonment. Data for these tables were collected from Federal agencies that participate in the Federal Justice Statistics Program: the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys and Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the U.S. Sentencing Commission, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
