Annotation: This report summarizes all the ongoing research, evaluation, and program development projects supported by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) through the end of fiscal year 1995.
Abstract: The projects include efforts supported by grants and contracts as well as intramural research projects conducted by NIJ staff. The projects reflect the six strategic goals set forth by NIJ in 1993 as the focus of its activities, as well as the four themes of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. The portfolio is organized into three main topic areas: criminal behavior, criminal justice system, and crime control and prevention. Within each topic, three types of research activities are presented: extramural research, intramural research, and research applications contract projects. The extramural projects are presented according to the year of award and alphabetically by title. The intramural and research applications contract projects are alphabetized by title. The listing for each project includes its number, institution, project director, and a brief summary.
