Abstract
Funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the Center for Task Force Training Program (CenTF), established in 1991, provides specialized training for law enforcement personnel who serve on narcotics task forces. CenTF attempts to increase operational effectiveness of multijurisdicitonal narcotics task forces in the areas of task force command and management, methamphetamine investigation management, and raves/club drug awareness. This report briefly describes three training workshops/seminars offered through the CenTF. First, the Narcotics Task Force Workshop, a 3-day course focusing on the training needed in the investigation and prosecution of narcotics trafficking conspiracies. Next, the Methamphetamine Investigation Management Workshop addresses the operational aspects of managing methamphetamine investigations. Lastly, the Raves/Club Drug Awareness Seminar is a 1-day seminar focusing on the proliferation of synthetic illicit drugs commonly associated with the nightclub or “rave” scene.
