Abstract
The victims tell how they were victimized; the short-term and long-term impacts of their victimization on themselves, families, and friends; and their suggestions for holding offenders accountable for their crimes. This discussion guide provides questions for individual or group responses based on each victim's experiences and comments. The intent of the discussion questions is to focus on the specific crime's impact on the victim and how the offender should be held accountable. The crimes involved in the vignettes are arson-related homicide, assault, burglary, child sexual abuse (female), child abuse and neglect (male), crime against a person with a disability, domestic violence, drunk driving, gang-related homicide, a hate crime, two vignettes of homicide, rape, and robbery.
