This document reports the results from testing Guidance Software Neutrino, version 1.4.14, against the GSM Mobile Device and Associated Media Tool Specification and Test Plan Version 1.1.
Abstract
Except for three test cases, the tested tool acquired all supported data objects completely and accurately from the selected test mobile devices and associated media (i.e., Nokia 6101, T-Mobile SIM, Motorola RAZR V3, and AT&T SIM). One exception to these results was test case CFT-IM-08. In this test, text messages over 160 characters were not acquired for the Motorola RAZR V3. The second exception was test case CFT-SIM-07. In this case, maximum length ADNs (abbreviated dialing numbers) and ADNs that contained special characters for the name (i.e., “@”) were not reported in either the GUI or generated report for both the T-Mobile and AT&T SIM. The third exception was test case CFT-IMO-10. In this test, stand-alone internal memory acquisitions altered the status flags of “unread” text messages present on the SIM to “read.” The run environments were Windows XP Service Pack 2. The supplier of the tool tested is Guidance Software. The configuration of the one test computer (Morrisy) is provided, and the nature and results of each test case for each mobile device are described in detail.
