Abstract
This Web site from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime provides resources for communities wishing to start a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) or those that already have one and are looking to make it better. SARTs provide assistance to victims of sexual violence who need help in navigating the complicated maze of governmental and community agencies that provide necessary services to the victims who are trying to get their life back after these violent attacks. The Web site contains five main sections: 1) learning about SARTs; 2) developing a SART; 3) how to put the focus on the victim which includes ways for putting the victim first; 4) following innovative and successful practices that relate to advocacy, culturally specific practices, health care, law enforcement, crime labs, prosecution, and collaborative partnerships; and 5) a find tools section that lists tools for responders, team planning tools, and evaluation tools for use by the SART. An additional sidebar on the site lists related sources from the Office for Victims of Violence and other topics related to women and sexual violence.
