Abstract
This issue of OJJDP's (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's) Journal of Juvenile Justice contains six articles discussing issues dealing with juvenile offenders and juvenile delinquency. The first article discusses the results of a study that examined the prevalence of adverse childhood experiences among juvenile offenders. The next two articles, Effectiveness of Multisystemic Therapy for Minority Youth: Outcomes Over 8 Years in Los Angeles County and Personal and Anticipated Strain Among Youth: A Longitudinal Analysis of Delinquency, examine gender differences in delinquency among minority youth while focusing on different pathways to delinquency. The fourth article presents the results of an evaluation of a program that works to promote positive police and youth interactions. The fifth article discusses the implications for Latino and Latina youth on probation that have self-reported varying levels of hope. The sixth article presents a commentary on the effectiveness of youth mentoring programs.
