Each case study focused on three aspects of a site's system of care. First, the case study examined the nature of and rationale for the responsibilities of each person or organization involved in the system of care for children exposed to violence. Second, the case study identified barriers in developing the system of care for children exposed to violence. Third, the case study identified the improvements needed to create a more comprehensive and responsive system of care for such children. The findings presented for each case study are in five main categories. One category pertains to the identification, screening, and referral of the children. A second category address intervention and treatment services, and a third category focuses on how service provider capacity was increased to better respond to children exposed to violence. The fourth category of findings in the case studies related to challenges in establishing a system of care for these children; and the fifth category of findings focused on project accomplishments and contributions to the field of childhood exposure to violence. 1 table, seven references, and appended overview of the systems of care in each of the seven sites
