New Public Service Ads Target Methamphetamine (continued)

Above the influence

In August 2005,the new Web site, MethResources.gov, was launched. A collaboration among the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, MethResources.gov provides access to the most current information in the areas of prevention, treatment, funding, legislation, and enforcement. Currently, the Web site is highlighting a new series of ads created for the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign (a program of ONDCP) and aimed at youth. These ?Above the Influence? ads, seen on television and in magazines, reflect the concerns of teens throughout the Nation. The campaign uses real-life stories of people who have been affected by methamphetamine and emphasizes the unique threat to families and the community posed by meth use. The campaign?s goal is to help teens stay ?above the influence? on the theory that the more aware teens are of the influences around them, the better prepared they will be to stand up to pressure.
